the sky was angry angry
so red
clear red
red like a crazy fire engine
red like a mad face

3 houses stood near the lake
one blue - one green - one white
there were trees
but no fish
in the water

where those houses stood
was very quiet
no birds sang there
no one knew why

they had lots of windows
those houses
but all the windows were black

there were fields beyond the lake
and fences
that no one could jump over

I never saw anyone live there
no one could live
under such mad-faced sky
