I was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After receiving my BA in English Literature from Millersville University, I traveled across the US and worked with horse ranchers in Idaho and studied with a home-birth midwife in Maine; hiked the deserts of New Mexico, traveled by bus across west Texas, explored the wilds of Baja, California and watched the sun set in Key West, Florida and eventually settled in Massachusetts.
